Dak Lak looks forward to celebrating Vietnam-Mongolia 70-year ties

On the evening of October 25, the Dak Lak Union of Friendship Organizations in coordination with Tay Nguyen University organized a Contest for learning about Vietnamese - Mongolian culture to celebrate the 70th founding anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Mongolia (1954-2024).
Delivering the opening speech, Mr. Nie Khanh Hai - Vice President of the Dak Lak Union of Friendship Organizations, Head of the Contest’s Organizing Board, said that this Contest played an important role on the occasion of Viet Nam and Mongolia celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties. He added that the Contest aimed to educate and raise awareness for Dak Lak students and people about the traditional relationship of solidarity, friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two countries. Through the Contest, the Organizing Board hopes that Dak Lak people, especially young people and students, will have the opportunity to learn more about Mongolia as well as the friendly relationship between the two nations.

There were eight teams from Faculties of Tay Nguyen University attending the Contest with many performances imbued with the colors of culture, country, people and friendship of the two nations.
At the end, the Organizing Board awarded a first prize to the team from Faculty of Education; a second prize to the team from Faculty of Economics; two third prizes to two teams from Faculties: Foreign Languages, Agriculture and Forestry; 04 encouragement prizes to four teams from Faculties: Medicine and Pharmacy, Political Science, Natural Sciences and Technology, Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine.
On November 17 of 70 years ago, the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mongolia were officially established, marking an important milestone in the history of relations between the two countries. Mongolia was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam, the first Southeast Asian country with which Mongolia established diplomatic relations. During challenging times, their relationship has continuously developed and achieved outstanding achievements in many fields.
Most recently, at the invitation of Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, Party General Secretary and State President To Lam and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation paid a State visit to Mongolia from September 30 to October 1, 2024. This visit demonstrates the high regard of the Vietnamese Party and State for the traditional friendship with Mongolia. Viet Nam and Mongolia issued a Joint Statement on the establishment of the comprehensive partnership during the visit to make their deep trust and cooperation become increasingly in-depth, substantive, effective and comprehensive.

Dak Lak province currently has a cooperative relationship with Orkhon province of Mongolia through signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Dak Lak PPC and Orkhon Provincial Government for the period 2019 - 2024. In late July and early August of 2024, the Dak Lak PPC sent a working delegation led by Vice Chairman Nguyen Thien Van to work in Orkhon province in order to evaluate the implementation of the MOU in the period 2019 - 2024 and sign a new MOU as a basis for implementing cooperation activities in areas of trade promotion, delegation exchange, cultural exchange, and tourism promotion between the two localities in the new period.
During this working trip, the delegation also coordinated with the Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia to organize the Dak Lak - Mongolian Enterprises Connection Program which chaired by Dak Lak PPC’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Thien Van and Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Nguyen Tuan Thanh. After the Connection Program, the Banana Brothers Farm Joint Stock Company of Dak Lak officially exported the first batch weighing 20 tonnes of banana to the Mongolian market in August 28, 2024. This is considered a new step forward in the cooperative relationship between Dak Lak and Mongolian partners.
